Self-Aid / Buddy-Aid Instructor Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION: In the event of a traumatic injury, having the knowledge to correctly identify and treat serious injuries within the first few minutes can have a significant impact on the survivability of a casualty. This Three-day, 24-hour Instructor course has been designed to train first responders as instructors in order to teach lifesaving skills. The focus of this program will be to provide the knowledge, specialized skills, and associated materials to develop, implement, and teach Immediate Trauma Care End User Course to Police Officers and Fire Fighters/EMS personnel at their respective departments.
Students will receive in-depth instruction on the preparation and application of basic and advanced trauma care. The training will provide first responders with the skills and knowledge to treat and survive traumatic injuries which will include but are not limited to: severe bleeding, airway management, shock treatment, and hypothermia prevention. All techniques taught have been implemented and practiced by emergency medical services throughout the nation and the U.S. military.
Students will learn and practice how to use and teach the proper usage and limitations of tourniquets, wound packing gauze, pressure point placement/usage, pressure dressings, occlusive dressings, Shock identification and hypothermia prevention.
An immediate trauma pack and equipment, to include: (1) CAT or (1) SOFT tourniquet, (1) SWAT tourniquet, (1) compressed gauze, (1) OLAES pressure dressing, (1) HALO chest seal-2 pack, (1) emergency blanket, (1) trauma sheers, and (1) nasopharyngeal, will be available for purchase at a discounted rate and will also be available for purchase at the end of the course for $95 (valued at $120). All items within the kit will be taught and practiced during the 24-hour course.
