Active Threat / Rescue Task Force

Tactical Operations Course

Date: November 3, 2022

Time: 9:00AM – 5:00PM

Location:  Buffalo Grove, Illinois

COURSE DESCRIPTION:This one-day class-room course is a collaborative training program taught by police and fire operational instructors that is designed to bring law enforcement and fire service front line supervisors together to provide nationally recognized best practices and strategies regarding deployment and operational control of Rescue Task Forces during active threat critical incidents.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This course should be attended by Police & Fire Department front line supervisors; Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, Corporals and Shift OIC’s. We highly recommend that representatives from the police and fire departments covering the same jurisdiction attend together. This is truly a unified operational concept where both departments must work cohesively.

COURSE GOALS & OBJECTIVES:This course is designed to define roles, responsibilities, and operational procedures when organizing and deploying Rescue Task Force concepts during high-risk critical incidents. The course will allow police and fire operational leaders the opportunity to work in partnership and practice the organizational and tactical command skills sets required to manage this type of an event. Real world examples, simulations and tabletop exercises will be utilized to practice the communication, operational skill sets, and coordination required to manage the deployment of Rescue Task Forces during these high-risk active threat situations.

COST:    ITOA Members: $150.00

Non-Members:  $190.00 (includes a one-year ITOA membership)
