The Illinois Tactical Officers Association,

in cooperation with the ILETSB Executive Institute and ICAT, is pleased to invite you to attend the

ITOA Master Firearms Instructor Meeting

Date: Friday, October 23, 2026

Time: 10am – 2pm

Location: ICAT Training Center

In our continuing efforts to develop training relationships, information sharing, policy and procedure development, muti-agency assistance, and general training collaboration, the ITOA will host an ITOA Illinois Master Firearms Instructor development meeting.

The agenda will focus on the topics decided upon at the inaugural virtual meeting and the suggestions shared with the group.

Items on the agenda for the Friday October 23rd meeting include, but are not limited to:

1. Review – Discuss – Modify the Master Firearms Instructor Program outline – to include:

a.     Range Safety Officer
b.     Basic Firearms Instructor
c.     Master Firearms Instructor

2.     Propose / Review / Develop a list of required Skill Set for each firearm classification.
3.     Review – Discuss – Modify ITOA Range Safety Rules
4.     Review – Discuss – Modify ITOA Firearms Performance Checklist
5.     Discuss establishing a skills video library for each weapon system
6.     Establish the ITOA Master Firearms workgroup cadre list.
7.     Report on ITOA’s new operating WEBSITE & Operating System
8.     2026 ITOA training conference flier / discussion
9.     Open Question / Answer / Discussion Session

After completing a registration form, you will receive a registration confirmation email. Lunch will be provided – please remember to choose Ham or Turkey sandwich for lunch!

ABOUT ITOA

This is an opportunity for tactical officers to gather together to compare ideas and experiences. Through education and networking, it was hoped that high-risk operations requiring the use of a tactical team would be made safer.
